July 31, 2014Mt Liebig petition in support of the RFDS mental health service
August 1, 2014Pamela Nathan, along with members of the CASSE Committee of Management and members of the CASSE Aboriginal Australian Relations Program, recently enjoyed the generous hospitality of the people of Ltyentye Apurte/Santa Teresa for an overnight visit to join members of the community and Atyenhenge-Atherre Aboriginal Corporation (AAAC) on the Horse Cultural and Healing Trek.
The Horse Cultural Trek has been an annual community event for the past half a dozen years and is the pride of the community. It is for youth from Ltyentye Apurte and other parts of Central and Northern Australia who have had problems with substance usage, self harm and trauma. CASSE was proud to support two cultural elders to mentor the youth for ten days.
Pamela Nathan interviewed Chris Wallace, Chair of the AAAC and manager of the program, and Peter Wallace, Elder. You can watch the video below. More videos will be coming soon and will be available on our new CASSEtv page for the CASSE Aboriginal Australian Relations Program.
